About PMI Exams
Project Management Institute (PMI®) as a global organization with a 40-year history of advocacy for the profession is the prophet for managing the project based on an acceptable standard. PMI supports practitioners with project management credentials that objectively assess experience, education and knowledge.

PMI credentials establish your dedication to and proficiency in project management. To attain a credential, you must satisfy the educational and professional experience requirements established by PMI and demonstrate your ability to apply your project management knowledge to situational and scenario-based questions in the examination. When you earn one or several of these prestigious credentials, you gain distinction and recognition in a growing community of project management practitioners. A PMI credential also increases your visibility within your organization and on a global level.

Employers who use PMPs are assured that they have hired Project Managers, who have a core competency in Project Management and the requisite experience to perform as a project manager.
Project Managers must file an eligibility application with PMI. Once PMI reviews an application and determines if a candidate is eligible, they release an eligibility letter. A candidate then receives the eligibility letter to take the PMP certification exam. PMI has a rigorous criterion and a very difficult, which potential PMPs must pass before they can become certified.
